Achilles Tendonitis
Treatment and Approach

Assessment:
The physical therapist evaluates pain, range of motion, strength, and functionality of the Achilles tendon and surrounding muscles.
Manual Therapy:
Soft tissue mobilization and massage help reduce pain and improve mobility.
Therapeutic Exercises:
Exercises to strengthen and stretch the calf muscles and foot, specifically targeting the improvement of Achilles tendon function and strength, are very beneficial.
Eccentric Exercises:
Eccentric exercises involve stretching the tendon while it is under load, which helps strengthen and repair the tendon.
Electrotherapy:
Various modalities such as Tecar therapy, SIS therapy (Super Inductive System), HILT therapy (High-Intensity Laser Therapy), Interferential Currents, and TENS therapy (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) are used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote circulation in the affected areas.
Shockwave Therapy:
Shockwave therapy is used to improve circulation in and around the injured tissue.
Physical therapy treatment for Achilles tendonitis requires an individualized approach, depending on the specific needs and condition of the patient. Working with a physiotherapist and consistently implementing recommended exercises at home are crucial for successful recovery
