Scoliosis

Our physiotherapy center offers advanced treatments for individuals with scoliosis. Scoliosis, as a spinal deformity, occurs idiopathically, meaning the cause is unknown. There are many theories. It is believed that an imbalance in adipose protein hormones (leptin, adiponectin, and resistin), which determine energy metabolism, occurs in early childhood. Many processes contribute to the improper formation of neuro-osseous structures. Once the mechanism of scoliosis is initiated, other systemic dysfunctions, such as osteopenia, melatonin dysfunction, vitamin D and calcium deficiency, will facilitate the progression of scoliosis itself. According to Hueter-Volkmann's law, the epiphyseal plates covering the vertebral bodies are more strongly compressed on one side due to irregular loading. This slows down vertebral growth and development, while on the other side, where the load is reduced, growth is facilitated.

SCOLIOSIS

Treatment and Approach

Orthofed method

The Orthofed method is an innovative way of treating spinal deformities. At the heart of this method is a three-dimensional approach to addressing scoliosis by fixation, elongation, and derotation of the present curve.
The strength of this device is focused on stabilizing, stretching, and derotating the spine, all under the control of a computer program.

Schroth method

The Schroth method is a unique concept for treating spinal deformities. A three-dimensional approach to addressing scoliosis has shown the best results in the conservative treatment of this persistent problem. The entire concept originated in Germany, at the Asklepios Clinic, where the method was developed and preserved for many years.
Children go through phases of rapid growth and development. In girls, this period usually coincides with menarche. In boys, the first period of rapid growth occurs in line with the mutation of the voice.
