Treatment and Approach

Assessment of the Condition
The physiotherapist evaluates the extent of pain, mobility, strength, and functionality of the thumb.
Electrotherapy
Various modalities such as Tecar therapy, SIS therapy (Super Inductive System), HILT therapy (High-Intensity Laser Therapy), Interferential currents, TENS therapy (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) are applied. The goal is to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote circulation in the affected areas.
Manual therapy: Joint mobilization and soft tissue massage can help improve mobility and reduce pain.
Support and orthotic aids
Wearing appropriate orthotic aids or splints is recommended to reduce thumb stiffness.
Therapeutic Exercises
Exercises to strengthen the muscles around the thumb and wrist. Stretching of the muscles that may be tight, such as the thumb flexors.
The intensity of therapy is determined according to the patient’s capabilities and needs.
